Farrow Risk Management recently conducted a series of staff training sessions at local Doctor’s Practices. The training followed up on a request made by practice managers in relation to staff concerns over workplace violence. FRM provide a bespoke training programme to over 80 practice staff that covered the principles of conflict management and communication techniques as well as a range of personal safety awareness strategies, including breakaway techniques. The training also included aspects of ‘mind management’ and how understanding our own responses to violent / threatening behaviour can help in defusing and de-escalating other people. The session was followed with a question and answer period that enabled the staff to discuss their concerns and share their experiences within a safe environment.
